About Allica Bank

Allica is the UK’s fastest growing company - and the fastest-growing financial technology (Fintech) firm ever. Our purpose is to help established SMEs, one of the last major underserved opportunities in Fintech. Established SMEs are the backbone of local communities - representing over a third of our economy - yet have been largely neglected both by traditional high street banks and modern fintech providers.

Role Description

This is a full-ownership product role at the centre of one of Allica's most effective growth channels. Accountants already introduce established SMEs to Allica and are often the first port of call when those clients make financial decisions. You will be responsible for turning that relationship into a product experience that drives more recommendations, retention and product depth across their client base. You will define and deliver Allica's proposition for accountants: a product that must feel trustworthy, work flawlessly across a portfolio of client accounts, and set the standard for how Allica builds propositions for the specific people and partners around our SME customers.

You will own the full product lifecycle: setting strategy, shaping the roadmap, leading your squad, and being accountable for commercial outcomes. You will work with a deep understanding of how accountants operate, such as day-to-day reconciliation, VAT and payroll processing, and cash flow advisory across a portfolio of clients, and bring that expertise to bear on a product that is both ambitious and grounded in what accountants and their SME clients actually need.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy, vision, roadmap and execution for Allica's accountants proposition.
  • Lead a cross-functional squad (Engineering, Design, Data and Operations) to deliver high-quality customer-facing product features.
  • Take full commercial accountability for your squad's OKRs — including accountant-driven customer acquisition, growth, retention, and product depth across accountant-connected SMEs.
  • Define and implement the accountant access model, from read-only visibility into client accounts toward richer permissions and access controls.
  • Define and deliver the accountant-facing product experience — a multi-client experience and workflow tools that help accountants monitor, reconcile and advise across their portfolio of SME clients.
  • Partner with Design, UX and Research to use customer discovery, prototyping and iterative research with both accountants and their SME clients to validate what to build next.
  • Define metrics, track outcomes, and anchor all decisions in data — building a culture of evidence-based product development within the squad.
  • Identify and manage product, regulatory, and delivery risks proactively, working closely with Compliance and Risk teams to ensure the product meets all relevant obligations.
  • Maintain a clear and well-communicated roadmap, providing regular updates to the Tribe Lead, wider squads and leadership.

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Significant experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in financial services, ideally building products for accountants, bookkeepers or other professional services audiences.
  • Deep understanding of how accountants and bookkeepers operate day to day, including practice workflows, client management, and common accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
  • Experience taking a product from early MVP to a fully-fledged proposition, ideally within banking, fintech or professional services software.
  • Strong commercial acumen — comfortable owning OKRs and making data-driven prioritisation decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate confidently across technical, commercial and regulatory audiences.
  • Decisive, with a track record of moving quickly while maintaining quality and managing risk appropriately.
  • Experience working in agile squads with Engineers, Designers, Data Analysts and Operations.
