About Allica Bank

Allica is the UK’s fastest growing company - and the fastest-growing financial technology (Fintech) firm ever. Our purpose is to help established SMEs, one of the last major underserved opportunities in Fintech. Established SMEs are the backbone of local communities - representing over a third of our economy - yet have been largely neglected both by traditional high street banks and modern fintech providers.

Department Description

At Allica, we’re building an industry-leading digital business bank. Our technology team sits at the very heart of the organization. We handle everything from new product development and innovation to the management of all the tools and systems the business uses to function efficiently and effectively. In all we do, we are committed to championing a culture built on Allica’s values of In it Together, Lead by Example, Own It, Straight Bat and Need for Speed.

You will work closely with IT SMEs and business stakeholders, providing both technical and strategic direction. The role will involve leading the development of business impact analysis and business continuity strategies, policies, plans, working with auditors and regulators, and driving maturity and visibility of the practice across the organization. You will also play a key role in aligning with the wider operational resilience objectives within the Bank.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead the development, maintenance and continuous enhancement of the Bank’s Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), ensuring they are robust, regularly reviewed, appropriately tested and aligned to agreed recovery objectives. Track identified gaps through to resolution with clear ownership and governance oversight.
  • Own and maintain the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) framework, methodology and supporting documentation. Facilitate BIA reviews across the business to identify critical processes, technology dependencies and recovery requirements, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and evolving business priorities.
  • Manage and continuously improve the annual mass notification testing programme, enhancing incident readiness through template development, stakeholder engagement, awareness initiatives and clear reporting of performance metrics (e.g. response rates, escalation effectiveness).
  • Support the design, coordination and validation of Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies for critical technology services. Ensure recovery solutions align with agreed RTOs and RPOs.
  • Oversee the production, review and maintenance of system documentation and technical recovery runbooks, ensuring they are accurate, risk-aligned and practical for use during live incidents.
  • Act as a key liaison for Internal Audit, External Audit and regulatory reviews relating to Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Operational Resilience. Provide clear, well-evidenced documentation demonstrating compliance and effective control operation.
  • Promote a culture of operational resilience across the organisation, encouraging knowledge sharing, proactive risk identification and continuous improvement.

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Proven expertise in Business Continuity disciplines with hands on experience conducting business impact analysis and designing and implementing in complex IT environments. (Azure experience preferred).
  • Good understanding of UK regulatory expectations relating to Operational Resilience and Business Continuity within a financial services environment.
  • Proactive and delivery focused, able to balance strategic vision with practical execution. Someone who takes ownership and gets things done.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build trusted relationships quickly across the business.
  • Confident in engaging auditors and regulators and able to represent the bank with credibility and clarity.
