Our purpose is to help established SMEs, one of the last major underserved opportunities in Fintech. Established SMEs are the backbone of local communities - representing over a third of our economy - yet have been largely neglected both by traditional high street banks and modern fintech providers.
Department Description
Allica exists for the half a million or so established SMEs with typically 5 to 100 employees. These SMEs are a crucial pillar of the UK’s prosperity - representing more than a quarter of all turnover and jobs - yet are increasingly neglected by traditional high street banks. Since early 2021 Allica Bank has been building its direct SME relationship proposition too. Our vision is to reimagine Local Relationship Banking for established SMEs, through the very best people and digital tools.

- Through ongoing proactive client engagement and forward-looking conversations to unlock opportunities to support businesses with their plans and ambitions.
- Credit risk monitoring for your portfolio including spotting early warning signs and fulfilling additional credit requests.
- Originating SME lending opportunities from initial enquiry through to completion, including writing credit papers in line with Allica’s credit policy and appetite.
- Delivering the business plan for your portfolio, and actively managing your objectives and personal development plans.
- Capable of horizon risk scanning, interpreting local markets and delivering action plans.
- You’ll be able to evidence an ability to work expertly with customers, colleagues and advisors to structure new lending proposals and write credit applications.
- Making your colleagues proud that you represent Allica, by ensuring excellent service for SME customers, prospects and advisors.
- Working closely and collaboratively with all areas of Allica to ensure a seamless and professional service is always provided.
