About Allica Bank

Allica is the UK’s fastest growing company - and the fastest-growing financial technology (Fintech) firm ever. Our purpose is to help established SMEs, one of the last major underserved opportunities in Fintech. Established SMEs are the backbone of local communities - representing over a third of our economy - yet have been largely neglected both by traditional high street banks and modern fintech providers.

Role Description

We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Risk to join our leadership team and take end-to-end ownership of risk strategy and execution across the Embedded Finance and Invoice Finance business suites. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role reporting directly to the CEO of the division.

As Head of Risk, you’ll lead the development and execution of the division risk framework and collaborate with Commercial, Product, Data, Finance and Legal teams. You’ll oversee the full credit lifecycle—from analytics, underwriting and structuring, through monitoring, compliance and collections—while guiding a high-performing risk team. Also, you will lead the use of AI and Advanced Risk analytics across the risk function.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Develop and lead risk strategy for our new products
  • Serve as a key advisor to the Division CEO, Group CRO and Board on risk appetite, governance, and portfolio
  • Lead, grow, and mentor a high-performing Risk team (8 people on day one)
  • Guide collections strategy and recovery workflows, ensuring efficiency and customer-centricity.

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • 7-10 years in debt capital markets, structured finance or corporate banking with a track record of leading complex credit transactions.
  • STEM degree with strong analytical and decisioning skills
  • Based in London or open to relocation to London
  • Experience overseeing complex underwriting and deal structuring
  • Demonstrated leadership across multiple dimensions of risk
  • Proven ability to build and manage diversified portfolios and optimise risk-adjusted returns.
  • Advanced analytical skills: financial modeling, large-data interrogation and critical credit assessment.
  • Good communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Interest/Experience in leveraging AI tools.
