As we continue to grow our Commercial Motor proposition, we're looking for a talented Motor Fleet Underwriter to join our team in Manchester on a hybrid model. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative underwriting environment, building strong broker relationships, making informed underwriting decisions and contributing to the profitable growth of our Motor Fleet portfolio. Role Description
- Underwrite existing fleet business in line with Allianz's underwriting strategy, risk appetite and financial objectives.
- Work closely with brokers, providing technical expertise and delivering exceptional service while maintaining profitability.
- Underwrite and negotiate Motor Fleet business within agreed authority levels.
- Assess and evaluate risks to support profitable portfolio growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and key stakeholders.
- Trade effectively to secure and retain profitable business opportunities.
- Deliver new business quotations, renewals and mid-term adjustments within service standards.
- Apply sound underwriting judgement while balancing risk and commercial objectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across underwriting, distribution, claims and operations.
- Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation.
- Support the achievement of team and regional business targets.
Location
This role is based in our Manchester office, please note that this is a hybrid working role with the expectation that you will attend the office 2 days per week.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £40,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the confidence to make sound underwriting judgments.

- Previous experience underwriting Motor Fleet insurance risks.
- Good understanding of commercial insurance principles and risk assessment.
- Strong trading, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
