Allianz UK have a new opportunity for a Senior Underwriter to join our Standard Motor Risk Selection team. This is a hybrid position and can be worked from our London office. As a Senior Underwriter, you will contribute towards the delivery of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), through the underwriting and analysis of all available data, whilst maintaining technically excellent standards and building up relationships with both internal and external customers.
Our team works closely with Pricing and as such, a working knowledge of Radar, Databricks, PowerBi and Excel is desirable. At Allianz UK, your growth is our priority. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
- Responsibility for a set of key brokers, UW rules as well as data analytics and reporting.
- Manage the constant review of the shape and quality of incoming business.
- Ensure that Pricing/Underwriting integrity is maintained.
- Manage the use of statistical information to identify brokers that are performing well or poorly and prepare and present recommendations within our Trading meetings.
- Attend strategic account management meetings with our brokers.
- Liaise with all other appropriate internal parties including Sales and Distribution, Pricing and Reporting, Claims and Operations.
Essential Skills
- Experience in Personal Lines Insurance, Motor preferable.
- Understanding of the skills and tools required for effective Pricing and Underwriting and can use these key skills to write risks profitably.
- Strong statistical data interpretation aptitude and skills.
- Good command of SQL or similar coding languages.
- Experience of Willis Towers Watson Radar software.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of working within a general insurer environment with experience of account management and evidence of managing the appropriate performance KPIs.
- Understanding of the key elements of regulation and legislation that exist within the general insurance marketplace.
- Account management / able to liaise and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders.
