Your team is part of the Product Solutions & Marketing (PSM) function which is dedicated to ensuring our product offering and market positioning best reflect needs of our clients. This function serves as the nexus between Investments and Distribution to drive the success of the overall business. PSM is home to expertise spanning Products, Product Specialists, Marketing and Digital Business. It serves as a strategic centre of excellence within the firm for all product and solution dimensions.

You will join as a Director of Product Strategy within the PSM Strategy team reporting to the Head of PSM Strategy. You will have a strong commercial and strategic mindset with the ability to identify and frame the critical questions that underpin successful strategy development. Leveraging market intelligence, industry trends, and data-driven analysis, you will guide the team in testing hypotheses, challenging conventional thinking, and uncovering the drivers behind market dynamics. You are intellectually curious and motivated to understand the 'why' behind the data, translating complex insights into compelling strategic narratives that influence decision-making and shape future direction.

The successful candidate will lead cross-functional strategic projects, manage effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, design, and direct innovative initiatives, and collaborate with senior leadership to ensure our product offering is competitively positioned and forward-looking. The role is based in our London office.

What you do

  • Shape and drive the strategic agenda for PSM ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, firmwide priorities and long-term growth objectives.
  • Develop strategic frameworks and oversee deep industry research on competitive market dynamics and industry developments (e.g., innovation trends or regulatory change).
  • Craft persuasive, fact-based narratives and actionable strategic recommendations in partnership with the Head of PSM Strategy to inform executive decision-making.
  • Build and influence relationships with senior stakeholders across PSM as well as cross-functionally with partners in Investments and Distribution.
  • Lead strategic project initiatives, to assess and evaluate opportunities according to our business capabilities to support future growth.
  • Advise senior management, provide direction on creation of decision papers for the Chief Product Officer and Executive Committee.
  • Act as a senior representative of PSM in firmwide forums and, where appropriate, externally with industry bodies and market participants to strengthen the firm's strategic positioning and thought leadership.

What you bring

  • Advanced degree or additional certifications (MBA equivalent or CFA preferred, not required).
  • 10+ years of industry experience in a similar role or with transferrable skills from strategy consulting, asset management, or financial services.
  • Demonstrable commercial fluency in the asset management industry, including the end-to-end value chain, competitive market dynamics, distribution landscape, and regulatory environment, with the ability to translate industry developments into strategic opportunities.
  • Excellent English communication and collaboration skills. German language fluency, a plus.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, a plus.
  • Regular user of AI (ChatGPT, Microsoft CoPilot or similar) with knowledge of building and deploying agents to scale research capabilities.
