An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Property & Casualty Underwriter to join our growing and successful team in London (hybrid). Our Underwriters are at the forefront of key broker relationships and your role and skillset will be dedicated to the continued development of our ever-growing account through the retention of existing business and a hunger to write and win new business.
You will participate in the Global P&C Academy accreditation, enhancing your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group. Furthermore, for pricing-based roles, Allianz Insurance offers a generous study package to enable the actuarial qualification to be obtained through the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK. Our team values continuous learning; you can enjoy free access to top training platforms like DataCamp, Databricks Academy, and LinkedIn Learning. Additionally, we host Lunch and Learn sessions on key business topics hosted by experts across the team and monthly insight sessions, including the Data Science Forum and analyst forum, to refine your technical skills.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £40,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
As the Property and Casualty Underwriter, your responsibilities will include:
- Building strong relationships with brokers, negotiating effectively, and providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Working as part of a close-knit team to offer renewal terms and new business quotations before deadlines, along with mid-term adjustments, survey preparation, and other types of policy transaction as needed.
- Checking and issuing of documents to clients.
- Learning about different areas of the business from industry-leading Underwriters.
- Supporting the wider teams by being proactive, enthusiastic and by challenging yourself to go out of your comfort zone.
Essential Skills
Experience of underwriting Property &/or Casualty risks. An understanding of how to approach the evaluation of risks, as well as how to foster strong relationships with our broker clients. Passion about your development. Taking initiative and being proactive within a team. Good verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and good analytical skills.
Desirable Skills
Existing CII qualification or a commitment to progressing towards CII qualifications is necessary for working within this technical team.
