Allianz Pet is now entering the next stage of development and is looking to achieve major growth across its portfolio of brands, including market leader Petplan. Identified for 'unconstrained growth', the business is increasing pet insurance distribution across all trading models including Partnerships. Pet products will be the primary focus of this role, however, we are looking for the individual to develop their learning and understanding across all Allianz product suites. We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded individual to manage key strategic relationships. As the primary point of contact, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term, profitable partnerships that support the business’s growth objectives.

You will coordinate the delivery of tailored propositions across internal teams, ensuring the development of sustainable and value driven trading relationships that align with both our strategic goals and broker needs.

Location: Location is flexible, please note this is a hybrid role.

Salary Information: Pay: Circa £60,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You:

  • Previous experience in account management across pet products (other products desirable).
  • Manages relevant stakeholders, governance processes, and procedures.
  • Develops, communicates, and implements the individual partner strategy in line with Corporate Plan targets, engaging all supporting teams regularly to maintain focus.
  • Builds strong relationships with partnership key personnel (existing and new customer) to fully understand their businesses, trading models, and organizational structures, enabling the negotiation of strong commercial outcomes and effective internal stakeholder engagement.
  • Responsible for executing strategic projects and business initiatives to achieve planned business benefits.
  • Keeps up to date with both insurance market and partner sector developments and trends, working proactively with partners and the business to assess potential impacts and drive discussions on change to evolve the business and strategy (e.g., new technology, competitor activity, regulatory changes).

Deliver Commercial Objectives:

  • Owns the individual profit and loss account, expenses, and key performance indicators, ensuring broker delivery against Corporate Plan targets.
  • Creates account plans, manages performance against plans, and takes corrective actions where required.
  • Shape the strategic direction for your assigned Partnerships within the team.
  • Collaborate with the Partnerships Marketing and Field Sales teams to align marketing activities with strategic objectives, ensuring campaigns benefit both Petplan and its partners.
  • Achieve partner-specific sales targets through traditional channel engagement and new partner distribution programs.
  • Own key partner performance reporting and work closely with the Data & Insight team to understand and report on partner and campaign-specific performance.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong leadership experience with a proven track record of engaging and leading cross-functional teams to deliver customer and profitable growth objectives.
  • Extensive account and relationship management experience, with the ability to develop and implement customer strategies, build effective relationships at director level, and influence joint strategies.
  • Commercial and strategic acumen, with the ability to align customer and company strategies, identify profitable growth opportunities, and make informed business decisions.
  • Strong financial expertise, including a sound understanding of P&L and the ability to interpret results and take appropriate actions.
  • Experience in project management and delivering strategic initiatives to achieve business outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the personal insurance market and distribution environment, with a strong understanding of Allianz’s customer and partner propositions.
  • Clear awareness of agency, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship management, networking, negotiation, and persuasion.

  • Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage (If there is a more relevant AI skill please amend).
