Secondment Opportunity (covering maternity leave for approximately 12 months). As an Actuary you will take responsibility for quarterly reserving and annual business planning. You will partner with Finance and Pricing and Underwriting teams to oversee portfolio performance and profitability. You will mentor and coach junior members of the actuarial team.
Location: London / Guildford
Salary Information: Circa £80,000 - £95,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You:
- Review the production, monitoring and communication of quarterly reserves for Motor lines of business.
- Review the actuarial input into the annual business planning and regular forecasting.
- Influence key stakeholders including portfolio managers, business finance managers and claims managers.
- Develop key relationships within the Actuarial team and work with external stakeholders such as auditors.
Essential Skills:
- Qualified Actuary, with Fellowship in the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (or equivalent).
- Strong Excel and coding (e.g. Python).
- Familiarity with actuarial reserving, pricing or capital modelling techniques and software.
- Insurance experience in reserving, pricing or capital modelling.
- An excellent communicator, capable of engaging at all levels of seniority, building strong relationships and influencing effectively.
- It is desirable to have leadership experience such as attracting, developing, motivating and retaining a talented team to deliver.
