Your Team
Our Allianz Commercial team is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key Global and International Brokers. The team focuses on developing and executing strategic growth opportunities, ensuring excellence in relationship management, and delivering the Allianz Commercial value proposition globally. We collaborate with other Allianz entities to align and deliver tailored solutions for our Global Broker partners, leveraging our expertise and resources to address unique challenges and provide exceptional service.
The Impact You Will Have
The Global Account Director will play a critical role in developing and executing Allianz Commercial's broker strategy. You will focus on select Global and International Brokers, identifying and driving strategic growth opportunities, and ensuring excellence in relationship management. As a key representative of Allianz Commercial, you will collaborate with other Allianz entities to align strategies and deliver solutions for Global Broker partners. You will also act as a trusted advisor, providing expert recommendations and ensuring the successful delivery of our services around the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Broker Relationship Management: Proactively build and maintain long-term relationships with key brokers at senior levels. Facilitate brokers' understanding of Allianz Commercial's underwriting appetites and capabilities and drive smart growth through opportunity identification and support. Act as the primary point of contact for broker inquiries and foster robust relationships with AGCS key brokers. Drive broker relationship mapping to enhance Allianz Commercial's profile and promote it as the preferred insurer among key broker partners.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain comprehensive client and industry segment insights to build long-term relationships with key clients. Act as a trusted advisor and solution provider for all client accounts, ensuring trust and credibility with key decision-makers. Address and resolve client issues, including large claims and International Insurance Solutions (IIS), as needed. Ensure client data in Salesforce.com (SFDC) is fully populated and kept current with relevant client information.
- New Business Development: Successfully acquire profitable new top and key clients by identifying suitable pipeline clients and developing effective Opportunity Roadmaps. Proactively lead and coordinate bids for key client acquisition, ensuring smooth transitions to operational key account teams upon success. Develop in-depth client and industry expertise to uncover unstated client needs and challenge the client with innovative solutions.
- Strategic Account Planning: Develop and document Strategic Action Plans (SAPs) in Salesforce.com (SFDC). Maintain a balanced pipeline with target accounts and submissions to meet financial targets and desired business mix.
- Upsell and Cross-Sell Opportunities: Drive upsell and cross-sell targets with key account teams, ensuring delivery of SAP strategies. Collaborate with underwriters to maximize the share of wallet profitably. Articulate Allianz Commercial's multi-line business offering and identify opportunities for collaboration with other Allianz Group businesses to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
- Revenue and Retention Targets: Contribute to the delivery of SAP renewal strategies and client retention targets. Develop compelling individual value propositions for key decision-makers involved in the buying process. Employ structured, repeatable processes during the sales cycle to assess and mitigate risks while realigning win strategies.
What You'll Bring to the Role
Professional Experience: Proven track record in underwriting or development roles within the industrial/specialty insurance business. Specialized knowledge in various lines of business (including Specialty lines) and robust expertise in at least one trade sector. Demonstrable experience in fostering long-term, profitable relationships at senior levels within broker and client organizations. Successful track record of prospecting new clients in the industrial/specialty insurance segment, including experience with International Program Business. Significant experience working in a complex, global matrix organization.
Education: Degree preferred in Economics, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline. Completion of a professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII).
Languages: Fluent in English. Proficiency in a second language relevant to the region is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies: Communication & Presentation: Ability to clearly express ideas and messages, both written and verbally, and deliver compelling presentations. Influencing Skills: Ability to persuade and motivate others to act without direct authority. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data from multiple sources, identify issues, and resolve them proactively. Negotiation & Conflict Management: Ability to negotiate favorable outcomes for Allianz Commercial and clients, managing conflicting priorities effectively. Expertise in integrating AI into various business functions, enhancing efficiency, and fostering a culture of data-driven innovation.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Salesforce.com (SFDC) or similar CRM tools. Strong understanding of underwriting principles and insurance products.
