Allianz UK Personal has an exciting opportunity for Head of Actuarial Pricing to join our team. The purpose of this role is to lead the Actuarial Pricing function, providing strategic direction, insight and oversight to support the delivery of underwriting performance objectives within the Corporate Plan. The role is accountable for ensuring pricing strategy, capabilities and outputs enable effective underwriting and trading decisions, while driving innovation across data, technology, analytical methodologies and cross-functional collaboration to enhance pricing sophistication and commercial performance.

Location: This role is based in one of our London Bishopsgate, Leeds, Bournemouth or Birmingham offices, with an expectation to attend the office 50% of the time.

Salary Information: Your pay will be based on your experience, skills and location and forms part of our total rewards package.

About You:

  • Lead the actuarial pricing function for personal lines, ensuring pricing strategy, activity and outputs support delivery of the Corporate Plan, customer outcomes and regulatory requirements.
  • Own the delivery of pricing forecasts and Pricing Best Estimates, providing robust analysis, insight and recommendations to inform underwriting and trading decisions, while supporting commercial performance and business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain pricing capability, frameworks and methodologies, collaborating across the full value chain including Underwriting, Finance, Reserving, Data, Change and Technology to deliver strategic pricing outcomes and business initiatives.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with Pricing, Underwriting, Claims and Reserving Teams and senior stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of accurate forecasts, pricing and claims insights.
  • Lead reporting across key governance and business forums, including Smart Circle, Pricing & Underwriting Forums, Insurance Committees and Group reporting processes.
  • Lead, coach and develop high-performing pricing teams, ensuring appropriate resourcing, clear objectives, career development and a positive, engaging working environment.

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of pricing and/or reserving discipline and insurance market covering competitors, comparable products, regulatory considerations.
  • Expertise in actuarial methods and principles, ideally within pricing, with the ability to apply technical knowledge to solve complex business challenges and support decision-making.
  • Highly numerate and able to translate detailed analytical work to broad business audience.
  • Proven ability to lead complex analysis and translate insights into business outcomes.
  • Experience in people management, leading multiple teams/strands of work.
  • Understands key processes, procedures and targets and is able to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and define market best practice.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and drive innovation by identifying opportunities for process improvement and enhancing analytical capabilities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries or equivalent qualification with extensive relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Exposure to pricing model development and advanced analytics techniques.
  • Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage and understanding of ethical AI in pricing.
