Allianz are currently seeking a skilled Inspection Underwriter to join their Engineering Inspection team and contribute to our success. This role will be hybrid from our office in Dublin.
Underwriters are the first point of contact for all customers of the Engineering Inspection Services. To work as part of this successful and dynamic branch, you will be customer focused and team oriented in order to deliver an excellent customer journey.
Your main role is to meet all business targets in relation to Inspection products for the Republic of Ireland region. The servicing of Broker and Client accounts within your own panel and ensuring you underwrite within defined parameters in a consistent and profitable manner.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa €45,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
Your role will vary day to day, but here is a bit of what you can expect:
- On a daily basis, you'll ensure customer satisfaction by building rapport and providing excellent service to external and internal customers and in the long term, ensure customer new business growth and retention.
- Build strong relationships with brokers, including attending virtual & face-to-face meetings, negotiating effectively, and providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Handle general customers' queries via the telephone and in writing within agreed service standards.
- Underwrite new business enquiries received by brokers, actively engage in prospecting activities to secure new business growth.
- Underwrite existing business and mid-term adjustments including analysis and compilation of data for referral.
- Negotiate within authority and refer where appropriate to maximise customer growth including persuading, influencing and convincing customers of the benefits of an opposed course of action.
Essential Skills

- Product experience within inspection or insurance.
- Strong understanding of insurance principles, with relevant industry experience.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective broker relationships.

- Attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Good decision-making skills.
- Commitment to progressing towards CII qualifications.
- A positive “can do attitude”.
