Lead the Future of Technical Pricing at Allianz UK! Join Allianz UK and help lead the strategic and technical direction of its Personal Lines Motor portfolio. This role covers all aspects of risk model build for all our motor accounts across the Retail and Broker portfolios and private car, van and motorcycle using a range of machine learning and more traditional GLM modelling techniques. With responsibility for all aspects of technical price, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of motor insurance at Allianz through collaboration, innovation, and expert decision‑making. This is a hybrid role requiring attendance at either our London or Birmingham office (50% per month).

About You

  • Play a pivotal role in driving forward the technical pricing capability of one of UKs largest motor insurers.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance, development and monitoring of the technical pricing models that underpin more than £1bn of personal lines motor GWP written across both Direct and Broker channels.
  • Enable the team to leverage the power of our recently migrated data assets, working closely with the central data team to ensure the highest possible data quality and that modelling data needs are met.
  • Alongside delivery of regular GBM and GLM model refreshes, ensure that the team remain on the cutting edge of risk modelling techniques, leading the team through regular R&D phases to improve processes, performance and available feature sets, working in close collaboration with the data science team.
  • Take opportunities to both share your expertise with and take learnings from other pricing teams across the globe, working closely with the Group centre of pricing excellence.

Essential skills

  • Strong background in volume‑lines technical pricing, with knowledge and experience in Machine Learning (GBM) techniques and GLMs.
  • Business‑minded and commercially focussed with extensive experience in the UK motor insurance industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire & motivate a team and manage stakeholder relationships within the UK and wider global business.
  • Previous project management/steering experience preferred.
