Location: London, Guildford, Leeds or Bristol (Hybrid) Salary: Dep on exp + benefits Role Description: Reporting to the Head of Communications, this role is responsible for the creation, evolution, and delivery of the Allianz UK internal communications strategy – with the aim of building trust, engagement and connection to business strategy and performance through business announcements (performance, change and transformation, people, and culture), and effective and impactful use of internal communication channels. This role will lead a team of communication professionals and work closely with the Allianz UK CEO and Executive Committee, plus other senior business stakeholders, to ensure that all internal messaging is consistent, clear, and effectively disseminated. It will work closely with the head of editorial planning and digital, head of external communications, head of events, and Group Communications, to bring to life our values, culture and brand and present our expertise through high-impact and integrated communication campaigns. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver an employee communication strategy that supports Allianz UK’s business goals and enhances employee trust, engagement and understanding of organisational goals. Support organisational change and transformation initiatives by developing communication plans that effectively convey changes to employees, explains their importance and addresses their concerns. Hold effective relationships with CEO, Executive Committee, and senior leaders e.g. People & Change – acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on change communication best practices – to build Allianz UK familiarity and trust, build their profile and show their expertise. Influence decision making on reputation risks and be recognised as an expert in crisis situations. Oversee the creation of compelling and relevant content for a variety of internal communication channels, including intranet, email newsletters, and digital broadcasts. Ensure all content is aligned with the company’s tone of voice and brand guidelines. Lead, mentor, and manage the employee communications team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of employee communication initiatives. Monitor and analyse the performance of digital communication channels, using data to enhance content strategy and engagement and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Manage employee communication and AV production agencies to ensure alignment to business strategy and leverage value from the relationship. Essential Skills and Experience: Highly organised leader with strong attention to detail. Proactive and results-oriented. Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Empathetic and able to understand employee perspectives. Excellent relationship and influencing skills, benchmarked against ability to engage with senior leaders in reputation risks, crisis management situations. Demonstrable experience as an internal communications leader with relevant financial services and/or insurance experience. Leadership experience in a large multi-national organisation undertaking significant change and transformation. Desirable Skills and Experience: Excellent writing, digital communication, and data presentation skills. Excellent people management and leadership skills. Deep technical knowledge of employee digital communication channels and platforms e.g. Viva Engage and Sharepoint. Insight and analytical-led planning, strong skills in building compelling messaging and able to challenge and influence multiple senior stakeholders. Effective management and development of the employee communications team. Timely and accurate communication during times of change or crisis. Continuous improvement in communication processes and tools based on data and feedback. Qualifications: Degree level or equivalent. Communications or Journalism degree preferred. Professional qualifications e.g. CIPR.
