This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader to work with the number one insurance brand globally and lead brand activity for Allianz UK. This role is a leadership position in a Brand and Communications function that is bringing Brand, Sponsorship, External Communications, Internal Communications and Events closer as one team.

As head of Brand, you will own and deliver the Allianz UK brand strategy, creating purpose, identity and connection in the UK amongst target audiences and leading work that visibly creates awareness, consideration, reputation and trust in an environment where AI models will increasingly influence purchasing decisions. You will be accountable for bold, sharp creative and flawless delivery, specifically how the Allianz brand looks and behaves where it shows up, and for the discipline of measuring and building its health over time.

You will have excellent commercial acumen in retail and B2B environments, be able to articulate the role brand plays in each trading area and enable data-driven decisions on investment. You will need to earn credibility fast, acting as a trusted partner to colleagues and senior stakeholders across Allianz UK and the wider Allianz Group.

This role is based in London, Guildford, Bournemouth, Bristol or Leeds, with the expectation to be on-site at least 50% of the working days each month.

About You

  • Own and deliver the Allianz UK brand strategy across every part of the business and target audiences.
  • Build the health of the brand over time, owning brand tracking and measurement and turning it into clear conclusions and recommendations.
  • Manage, shape, and deliver the ATL and BTL creative for our multi-brand portfolio.
  • Manage how the brand is expressed consistently through multiple brand identities, channels and audiences - while enabling campaigns to run at pace.
  • Lead and inspire the brand team, setting direction, developing people and building a high-performance, customer-centric culture.
  • Manage agency and partner relationships, to drive delivery against objectives, getting the best value and creativity from them.
  • Coordinate across marketing communities in Personal, Commercial and Specialty Lines in Allianz UK; with Sponsorship, External and Internal Communications, and Corporate Events, and with other business functions, to keep integrated work aligned and moving toward delivery.
  • Track brand budget, investment and spend, flagging risks and decisions early.
  • Anticipate what is needed, step in to lead, and keep priorities, milestones and decisions on track and moving toward closure.

Essential Skills

  • Proven track record of leading brand strategy for a significant consumer or B2B brand, with experience in a regulated industry beneficial.
  • Track record of creating retail and B2B brand identities alongside other trading brands, and of working with creative agency partners to build brand identity for both internal and external audiences.
  • Excellent commercial instinct, able to make a compelling, analytical and evidence-based case for investment.
  • Confident working with data and insight, turning brand tracking, econometrics and customer insight into clear conclusions that support decision-making.
  • Experience of owning creative quality and brand governance, with the judgement to know when to hold firm and when to enable pace.
  • Experience of ATL and BTL creative asset delivery with a clear track record of success.
  • Experience of briefing and managing agencies and creative partners to a high standard.
  • Experience of leading, developing and motivating a team.
  • Experience of building and managing senior stakeholder relationships, with excellent emotional intelligence, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Comfortable using a blend of experience, knowledge and AI tools to analyse complex information, think creatively and drive results.
  • Structured and organised approach, with a strong focus on planning, preparation and attention to detail, yet flexible in the face of shifting workloads, using own initiative to deliver beyond the role's requirements.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous Experience using GEO Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage.
