At Allianz Commercial (AzC), we are the global leader for insuring corporate and specialty risks in the Allianz Group. We are looking for a Global Head of Political Violence and Terrorism.
Your Team
The Political Violence and Terrorism team at Allianz Commercial is a specialist unit that provides expert risk assessment, underwriting, and insurance solutions for businesses exposed to political violence, terrorism, civil unrest, and war perils globally. The team offers comprehensive coverage including standalone terrorism and sabotage insurance, strikes, riots and civil commotion (SRCC) insurance, and full political violence policies covering war on land, civil war, political subversion, and political intimidation.
The Impact You Will Have
As the Head of Global Political Violence and Hostile Environment Solutions across Large Corp and Mid Corp across all regions, you will have responsibility to lead Allianz’s PVT offering to the market and provide a clear point of contact and escalation for the Line of Business. You will have ownership of the PVT LOB and P&L responsibility, overseeing strategy across all segments and of the Centre of Competence for all short tail lines relating to PVT globally across Large Corp & Mid Corp.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Take major role in setting Global LoB strategy.
- Align strategic objectives with other functions in the OE (Distribution, Actuarial, Claims, Reinsurance, etc.).
- Independently design and present to Global Head the annual strategy for AGCS Stand-alone PVT underwriting.
- Execute on the strategic targets.
- Build, develop and retain respective Global PC team in cooperation with Regional LoB Head.
- Drive the LoB AGCS UW Academy organisation and other trainings, develop content for them as needed.
- Direct and/or Matrix management of Regional PVT LoB heads and other team members across AGCS and OEs.
Steering and Controlling
- Full ownership of respective Global PC including respective planning, budgeting and monitoring in close coordination with Regional LoB Heads and CUO.
- Oversee the P&L of the Global Cyber PVT ensuring profitability is maintained over the cycle.
- Identify and monitor PC specific claims developments and trends.
- Design and execute on feedback loop between Claims, Risk Consulting and Global Underwriting strategy.
Representation and Client relationship management
- Identification of trends, market developments, market claims, market potentials and clients in close coordination with Regional PVT Head.
- Provide acquisition support including direct client, broker negotiations, PC specific presentations at broker events.
- Building and maintaining relationship with global leadership of PVT function at major broking partners.
UW Approach and Compliance
- PC specific corporate underwriting: business appetite definition, authority approvals, implementation of UW framework.
- Oversight over LoB's Business Review process in cooperation with Global Process Coordination.
- Facilitating regional exchange between regions with regards to the respective PC.
Coordination and Collaboration
- Drive and facilitate PC specific internal and external communication in close cooperation with all relevant parties.
- Facilitation of regular regional exchange between the Regions with regards to the respective PC.
- Drive and facilitate collaborative efforts with other LoBs in AGCS and across OEs.
Product Development
- Drive from underwriting side the PC specific pricing, tools, processes and organisational matters.
- Drive product development/product enhancements for PC including cross LoB products.
- Ensure global product roll-out for PC.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
- A deep knowledge of PVT and Hostile Environment insurance products across global markets.
- Expert understanding of global LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape.
- Significant experience in leadership and development of direct teams internationally.
- Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally.
- Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail.
- A deep knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
For Germany, the base salary range for this position is between 98.000 EUR - 130.000 EUR. The annualized amount represents a market range and will also be determined by the location of the role.
