This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified electrician with a background in installation and/or fixed wiring inspection and testing to join Allianz Engineering, a division of one of the largest insurers and financial services companies in the world. As a newly recruited Engineer Surveyor at Allianz Engineering, you will automatically be enrolled onto our unrivalled induction-training programme to support your personal development.

Role Description

You will carry out the Periodic Inspection & Test and complete the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) for all types of industrial and commercial installations such as offices, factories, quarries and their associated electrical apparatus. You will work closely with your Engineer Surveyor Team managed by one of our Senior Operations Team Leaders. You will prepare reports of examination following your inspections using electronic reporting to ensure fast and efficient delivery to our clients. Examination of Local Exhaust Ventilation systems (LEV) plant including air movers (fans), ducting, hoods, and filtration systems to control fumes, dust and mists created by both industrial and commercial processes.

Salary Information

Pay: £44,213 Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

  • Up to date on their knowledge of BS7671:2018 Amendment 2.
  • Able to travel effectively within your local allocated work area.
  • Enthusiastic about learning a new discipline in the inspection of LEV systems and understanding the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH).
  • Able to make well informed decisions, and willing to take responsibility.
  • Effective in their short, medium and long-term planning, in order to diarise meetings, visits and work allocation.
  • Passionate about engineering, self-driven with the ability to interact with a variety of clients daily.
  • A background in working with low voltage electrical installations.
  • Strong customer interaction skills are essential, including good oral and written communication skills.
  • Time management skills are essential as you will be required to independently organise your week's work in an effective manner.
  • Comfortable using tablets and smartphones as part of your working day.
  • Competent in processing documentation, as well as undertaking general administration in a timely manner.

Essential Skills

  • Successful candidates are required to hold a minimum of NVQ Level 3 qualification in electrical engineering or higher.
  • Hold BS7671:2018 Amendment 2 (18th Edition).
  • A holder of a full valid UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent.
  • Incorporated Engineer.
  • Experience in LEV systems.
