The Team

The Delegated Authority Governance team sits within Underwriting Integrity & Solutions (UWIS) at AGCS and is responsible for all governance relating to Delegated Underwriting Authority Facilities across the business globally. The team owns and maintains the UW Facility Functional Rule, oversees the Internal Annual Facilities Review and Program Review process, and manages all contract agreement templates in collaboration with Legal & Compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the presentation of significant Facilities to the Underwriting Committee and Board of Management for approval.
  • Reporting on the Facility Inventory.
  • Tracking and remediating breaches of authority.
  • Overseeing sub-delegation arrangements.
  • Acting as the central point of management for all Subject Matter clauses and addenda to Delegated Underwriting Authority contracts.

The team works cross-functionally with Lines of Business, Portfolio Solutions, Distribution, Claims, Outsourcing, Risk Management, and Compliance to ensure robust controls and governance are in place throughout the full lifecycle of every Facility - from onboarding and active underwriting through to renewal and exit.

The Impact You Will Have

Take the lead on executing the due diligence required under the AGCS Underwriting Delegated Authority Functional Rule - ensuring every delegated authority relationship is rigorously assessed, actively supervised, and audit-ready, both internally and externally. You'll be the go-to expert for reviewing binding authority documentation, making sure everything aligns seamlessly with AGCS' risk and compliance frameworks - no gaps, no grey areas. As the voice of Delegated Authority Business, you'll represent the function across a range of internal and external committees and working groups, building influence and driving alignment at every level. Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You'll work hand-in-hand with Underwriting, Claims, Compliance, and other key stakeholders to ensure AGCS governance processes aren't just understood - they're embedded and second nature across the business. And when it comes to keeping everything running smoothly, you'll harness the power of OneView to maintain meticulous, comprehensive records of all Facility Contracts and Facility Partners - ensuring full transparency and traceability at all times.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  • Developing a deep understanding of the strategic arrangements and ensuring the governance aligns with our overall model.
  • Ensuring that the AGCS UW Delegated Authority Functional Rule required due diligence is executed, monitoring the BAU supervision and internal and external audit processes for delegated authority relationships.
  • Reviewing binding authority documentation and ensuring compliance with AGCS' risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Representing Delegated Authority Business on various internal and external Committees and Groups.
  • Advising internal stakeholders of any appropriate actions which are required and ensuring these are addressed.
  • Working with Underwriting, Claims, Compliance, and other key stakeholders to ensure all AGCS governance processes are fully understood and adopted, escalating queries when required.
  • Utilising OneView to maintain a comprehensive list of all current 100% lead and follow Facility Contracts and Facility Partners, and ensuring records are properly recorded on other SME systems.
  • Utilising OneView to maintain records of all due diligence and audit activity and follow up requirements, including on other relevant SME systems.
  • Recording breaches and tracking mitigating action, escalating appropriately both locally and to the AGCS Head of Governance Delegated Authority Business.
  • Contributing to the review and design of Facility policies and procedures and contributing to cross-team projects on behalf of Facility Management.
  • Analysing Facility Partner MI and reporting findings and trends back through the required channels.
  • Providing reporting updates for various audiences, primarily for any AGCS Governance Fora.
  • Representing the Delegated Authority Governance at both internal and external meetings where required, e.g. divisional underwriting meetings, market meetings etc.

Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of the role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in relevant Functional Rules, Standards and Policies, as they relate to the role, placing customers at the centre of business and behaving with integrity.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Previous experience working in a Delegated Authority Governance.
  • The ability to work under limited supervision and elevate queries as required.
  • Experience in assessing/supervising due diligence for delegated authority arrangements.
  • Experience in reviewing and interpreting audit reports and dealing with associated recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulatory developments in the field.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and working with different departments to ensure adherence to processes and procedures.
  • MS Office including Excel. Distribind and OneView experience helpful.
  • Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
