As Broker Trading Analyst, you will be responsible for providing data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and optimise trading operations. This role involves conducting trend analysis, coordinating claims insights, developing KPIs and contributing to strategy effectiveness monitoring.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £40,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

Key Accountabilities

  • Trend Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis of market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities and risks. Provide actionable insights to inform trading strategies and business decisions.
  • Claims Insight Coordination: Collaborate with claims teams to gather and analyse data, providing insights into claims patterns and trends. Ensure claims insights are integrated into trading strategies and operational planning.
  • Trading KPI Development: Develop and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure trading effectiveness and align with strategic objectives. Monitor KPIs and provide regular updates to management, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Strategy Effectiveness Monitoring: Evaluate the effectiveness of trading strategies and initiatives, providing feedback and recommendations for optimisation. Support strategic planning with data-driven insights and analysis.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to gather intelligence on competitors, customer preferences and emerging trends. Use research findings to inform product development and trading strategies.
  • Trading Meeting Input: Prepare and present insights and analysis at trading meetings, contributing to informed decision-making. Collaborate with trading teams to ensure insights are effectively utilised in strategy development.
  • Reporting Design and Coordination: Design and coordinate the creation of reports and dashboards to communicate insights and performance metrics to stakeholders. Ensure reporting is clear, accurate, and aligned with business needs.

Skills & Experience

  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Experience in collecting, cleaning, and interpreting large datasets (both structured and unstructured) from various sources. This includes using advanced algorithms and statistical models to identify meaningful patterns, trends, and correlations.
  • Market/Industry Knowledge: Understanding of market dynamics, industry-specific data (e.g., trading, claims patterns, economic indicators), and business acumen to align data insights with strategic objectives.
  • Analytical Tools & Software: Proficiency with dedicated analytics tools, data visualisation software (for creating reports and dashboards), CRM systems, and potentially web scraping tools.
  • KPI Development & Monitoring: Experience in defining, developing, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure effectiveness and performance against strategic goals.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Strong ability to prepare clear, accurate reports and present complex information and actionable insights to diverse stakeholders and management (e.g., in trading meetings), influencing decision-making.
  • Collaboration & Cross-functional Coordination: Proven experience working collaboratively across different departments (e.g., claims, trading teams, product development) to gather data and ensure insights are integrated into various business functions.
  • Strategic Planning & Optimisation: Experience in evaluating strategy effectiveness, providing data-driven feedback, and making recommendations for improvement and optimisation.
