In this role you will join AllianzGI Direct Lending platform by strengthening our investment capabilities in London.

Based in London, Paris, Munich, Rotterdam and Singapore, the Direct Lending platform is composed of 34 investment professionals. With c. €10bn AUM, we invest in European low to mid-cap direct lending transactions (including Impact deals), in Emerging Markets, and in Asia.

In addition to contributing to the origination, structuring, credit analysis, terms and conditions negotiation, execution and asset monitoring of direct lending transactions in European markets, the position will include the chance to support our Emerging Markets strategy too, and various related tasks linked to the growth of the business.

This role is based in London, UK.

What you will do
Investment & asset monitoring:

o Conducting in-depth due diligence on individual companies to provide adequate risk analysis of investments
o Conducting market/industry research, compiling comparable transactions and precedent financings
o Building and reviewing financial models with the ability to project different scenario by challenging key assumptions
o Preparing investment memorandum and presentation to the committee
o Playing a key role in internal processes regarding execution of investments
o Supporting origination effort
o Monitoring, management and reporting of existing investments in the portfolio

• Others:

o Supporting the preparation of materials for investor communication whether in the context of reporting or fundraising
o Facilitating relationships with other teams: Impact Strategy team, Investment committee members, product specialists and support functions (risk management, legal, operations, compliance, products, etc.)

What you bring

Required:
• 4 to 6 years of experience in transaction services, leveraged finance, private debt, or debt/capital advisory.
• Prior experience in financial modelling, financial and/or credit risk analysis and drafting of investment/credit memos
• Solid academic track record
• Fluency in English. Fluency in a second European Language is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications. Experience on Bloomberg is a plus. Strong data analytics skills.

• Capacity to train and mentor junior staff
• Contribute to our origination effort, particularly with regards to new markets (first by supporting our senior team members and second by growing over time own network)
• Facilitate relationships with: Impact Strategy team, Investment Committee members, Product Specialists and Support functions (Risk Management, Legal, Products, Operations, Compliance, etc.)
• Eagerness to join a developing platform with a sustainability, transition and impact investing passion and an entrepreneurial spirit
• Attention to detail and ability to challenge e.g. views, statements, processes etc.
• Ability to work for different type of direct lending transactions (senior, unitranche) and to work well within a diverse team
• Proactivity in a team where each member assumes tasks outside of the typical day-to-day tasks to grow the platform
• Experience in sustainable or impact investing, or experience with ESG or impact frameworks is a plus
• Interest and enthusiasm in driving change through high impact investments
