We’re thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Motorcycle Underwriter to join our team. This is a hybrid position, requiring travel to either our Chelmsford or London offices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Underwriting Manager in developing underwriting strategy in collaboration with Pricing Managers.
  • Manage broker relationships and external broker interactions.
  • Use technical knowledge and awareness of customer needs to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Monitor market, technology, and data developments, customer feedback and product performance MI.
  • Maintain and update product specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Refresh rate charts regularly for up-to-date pricing information.
  • Manage product updates to keep offerings current and competitive.
  • Provide a cross‑product and cross‑functional view, identifying opportunities to improve the process.
  • Actively participate in management forums internally (e.g. Pricing Committee, Risk Validation Steering and Product Forum).
  • Analyse relevant product‑related regulatory bulletins (e.g. from ABI and FCA).

Essential Skills

  • Experience in underwriting, product development or relevant technical experience.
  • Interpret MI and analysis effectively, using data to spot risks, opportunities and recommend solutions.
  • Proficient in Excel (intermediate) and PowerPoint.
  • Understand underwriting appetite and governance.
  • Skilled in stakeholder and project management.
  • Clear communication skills, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Spot risks and opportunities, recommend solutions.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £45,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
