A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a talented Business Development Manager to join our Southampton team. You’ll take the lead on some of our most high‑value, strategically important accounts.

Role Description

This is a role for someone who loves being out in the field meeting brokers, strengthening relationships, and driving growth across a diverse portfolio. You’ll work with a blend of mid‑corporate and SME brokers, bringing a proactive, people‑focused approach to every interaction. Beyond managing accounts, you’ll play a key part in the wider branch, contributing to projects and initiatives that will help shape the future direction of the team.

Take ownership of key broker accounts across the South Market, building strong, influential relationships that drive success for Allianz UK. Shapes and delivers strategic broker development plans, tracking performance closely and taking decisive action to achieve outstanding results.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £51,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

Serves as the primary relationship lead internally and externally ensuring Allianz maximises every partnership while consistently meeting our client commitments. Champions fresh, forward thinking business development initiatives that support growth across the South region. Maintains full adherence to all regulatory standards, ensuring every action reflects our commitment to quality and compliance.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent relationship management, networking, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Self-starter, assertive, resilient and ability to motivate others to win with you
  • Close familiarity with the commercial insurance market and its components
  • A strong understanding of the customer and broker propositions offered by the Allianz Group
  • Strong financial acumen and presentation skills
  • Strong sales capability with a proven ability to prospect and generate new business opportunities and effectively take the full breadth of Allianz products and solutions to the market
  • UK Driver License
