Overview
We have an excellent opportunity to join the Procurement team as a Sourcing Manager. The role is to work at a strategic level with internal stakeholders and external vendors to optimise the value from the company’s third-party relationships for the supply of goods and services, with emphasis on cost optimisation, risk management and innovative solutions from the supply market. The remit includes contributing to the delivery of the category strategy for the Professional services category (Consultancies, Services, Legal and Tax advisory). The role leads a team of Sourcing Managers and Buyers across the category(ies) under management and executes the category strategy through tendering and contract review processes. This is a role that can be based in any of our UK offices, with the expectation to be on site two days a week.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic procurement initiatives in support of the organisation’s procurement corporate plan and Allianz Global Procurement’s global initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the category strategy, ensuring collaboration with internal stakeholders and alignment with business objectives.
- Develop robust, trusting, value-add relationships with business stakeholders and suppliers to deliver initiatives focused on value, customer outcomes, performance, risk management and innovation.
- Drive supplier innovation through tendering and contracting practices in collaboration with the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) team and proactive marketplace engagement.
- Deliver cost optimisation and other value-add benefits for the supply chain and customers.
- Ensure key measures of success, savings targets and KPIs are met and improved year over year.
- Conduct all procurement activities in line with Allianz Group Sourcing Policy (AGSP) and related processes.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks within the supply chain to ensure continuity and compliance with Allianz Group standards; implement strategies to address potential disruptions.
- Coordinate Procurement Due Diligence and Governance activities with Procurement Development & Analytics to ensure adherence, visibility and reporting.
- Champion sustainability and ethical sourcing practices within procurement activities in line with Allianz’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Essential Skills
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices.
- Experience with modern sourcing and procurement systems.
- Strong negotiation, communication, business acumen and analytical skills, including data analysis and interpretation.
- Excellent stakeholder management; ability to influence and build strong stakeholder/supplier relationships.
- Strong time management skills with a proactive, flexible approach to a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in procurement processes and strategies.
