An exciting opportunity for a Property and Casualty Underwriting Team Manager has arisen to join the successful London branch. The purpose of the role is to lead a London Market trading team to ensure we deliver for our customers and our financial objectives. The role holder will coach and lead the team to drive high performance with their underwriters and achieve business targets.
Responsibilities
- Managing, motivating and developing the team to achieve individual, team and departmental targets.
- Actively planning and managing the resources and workloads to achieve set targets and service levels.
- Identifying and understanding the needs of customers and managing relationships with brokers and other key stakeholders.
- Analyzing management information to improve performance.
- Resolving escalated complaints and technical referrals from the team.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and that service is delivered in accordance with agreed SLAs.
- Being a member of the regional leadership team, identifying business improvements and methods to increase staff engagement, efficiency, and productivity.
Essential Skills
- Capability to lead and drive high performance with your team.
- Knowledge of setting clear targets, focusing on priorities, regularly reviewing performance to agreed SLAs and adjusting where required.
- Knowledge of London Market underwriting.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to get things done and encourage the team to be open and willing to change.
- Proven experience in developing skills and talent with a team.
- Maintaining a strong technical focus through training and appropriate qualifications together with coaching team members to improve their current performance.
- A working and up-to-date knowledge of the relevant regulatory policies, framework, and procedures.
- A working knowledge of the respective policy administration systems.
- Organizational skills. Proficient in MS Outlook, Word and experienced to a base level of Excel.
