As part of our UK strategy and purpose, we are recruiting Operational Data Improvement Managers to join the Claims Insight & Performance team. This is an exciting time to shape and embed data science and analytics capabilities across Claims, helping us deliver sustained, trusted, and measurable operational value.
You will play a key role in ensuring data science models and robotics processes are effectively applied within our Claims operations—translating business needs into analytical use cases and ensuring models are understood, adopted, and embedded into everyday decision‑making.
Reporting directly to the Head of Claims Data Improvement and Culture, the role will partner with the data science teams to embed well governed analytics and data science capability into Claims, strengthening data driven decision making, improving customer outcomes, and building a strong data culture within agreed risk and control frameworks. This is a high impact opportunity to turn advanced analytics into real operational advantage.
Available locations: Guildford, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, London and Bournemouth.
Hybrid work expectation: 2 days per week in office.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £56,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
- Own the lifecycle of machine learning models, robotics and analytics within Claims, from use case definition and prioritisation through to deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
- Partner with data science teams, translating Claims objectives into clear problem statements, success metrics, and operational constraints.
- Ensure models are production ready, aligned to Claims processes, decision frameworks, and technology environments.
- Oversee ongoing model performance, monitoring drift, bias, data quality issues, and operational misuse.
- Embed model outputs into decisioning, ensuring recommendations and thresholds are well understood and appropriately used by Claims teams.
- Champion data literacy and adoption, helping colleagues understand the importance of data science and analytics in Claims.
- Balance innovation with risk and control, ensuring appropriate mitigations are in place for model, data, conduct, and regulatory risks.
- Support strong governance and assurance, ensuring documentation, explainability, controls and audit readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance data, features or processes that influence model effectiveness.
