We’re looking for a technically minded Product Manager to take end‑to‑end ownership of our core business applications, such as but not limited to Guidewire and Instanda, and drive a strategic change portfolio that underpins the future of our business application estate. This is a high‑impact role where you’ll shape product vision, steer multi‑team delivery, and ensure our platforms evolve in line with customer needs, regulatory expectations, and Allianz UK’s long‑term strategy. You’ll own platforms at the heart of our business, work with passionate teams and senior leaders to deliver meaningful change at scale.

Key Accountabilities

  • Strategic Product Leadership: Define and champion the product vision for Guidewire, Instanda, and other core business applications, ensuring alignment with business strategy and enterprise architecture. Partner with Tribe Leads and senior stakeholders to translate strategic goals into measurable OKRs and actionable product roadmaps. Lead the full lifecycle of your platforms—from inception and launch through continuous enhancement, optimisation, and eventual retirement.
  • Technical Product Ownership: Act as the primary owner of multiple core business applications, including Guidewire and Instanda, overseeing platform stability, scalability, and alignment with technical standards. Oversee the definition and delivery of Functional and Non‑Functional Requirements (FRs/NFRs), including integration, performance, and security. Collaborate closely with Technology SMEs, architects, and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and robust solution design.
  • Roadmap & Backlog Management: Establish governance routines that drive prioritisation, cross‑team alignment, and transparent decision‑making. Guide Product Owners and delivery teams to maintain value‑driven backlogs and ensure consistent flow across squads. Lead PI planning, cross‑team demos, and iterative delivery cycles within an Agile/SAFe environment.
  • Product Development & Delivery Excellence: Oversee the delivery of new features and enhancements across core business applications, ensuring they meet customer needs and business objectives. Monitor product performance, define SMART KPIs, and drive continuous improvement through data insights and user feedback. Ensure all product changes meet regulatory, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Stakeholder & Customer Insight: Build strong relationships with senior business leaders to understand strategic outcomes and shape product direction. Implement structured customer insight and feedback loops to inform prioritisation and roadmap evolution. Drive consistency in persona development, user journey mapping, and customer experience across teams.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Provide mentorship and direction to Product Owners, fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability, and continuous improvement. Support onboarding, capability development, and knowledge‑sharing across delivery teams. Promote consistent ways of working, focusing on data quality, tooling, and operational efficiency.

Skills & Experience

  • Technical & Product Expertise: Strong technical understanding of enterprise applications, ideally with hands‑on experience or ownership of Guidewire, Instanda, or similar insurance platforms. Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) and experience using Jira and Confluence. Proven ability to define, measure, and optimise product performance through KPIs and analytics.
  • Experience & Qualifications: Extensive experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager delivering technology‑enabled change. Background in insurance or financial services, with strong understanding of business processes and customer needs. Certified Product Owner/Product Manager (or working towards certification). Degree‑level education (2:1 or above) or equivalent professional qualifications (e.g., ACII).
  • Leadership & Soft Skills: Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills. Ability to lead through complexity, motivate cross‑functional teams, and drive alignment without direct authority. Self‑motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently with minimal guidance.

We also offer flexible working options, global career opportunities across the wider Allianz Group, and development and training. Benefits include:
