You will lead one of our Claims Data Science agile squads, driving the delivery of innovative machine learning and data products that transform the customer journey and operational performance. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will shape data-driven strategy while developing your people leadership and product ownership expertise.
Location is flexible. Please note that this is a hybrid working role with the expectation that you attend a local office 2 consecutive days per month.
Salary Information
Circa £58,000 per year. This reflects your experience, skills, and location, and forms part of our total rewards package.
About You
- Work with business stakeholders to identify, shape, and prioritise machine learning and data product opportunities
- Lead an agile squad of data specialists, setting direction, vision, and delivery priorities
- Own and maintain product roadmaps and backlogs, ensuring stories are refined and ready for delivery
- Drive value delivery by tracking outcomes and articulating realised business benefits
- Collaborate with Scrum Masters to embed Agile principles and support a high-performing, self-organising team
- Champion the use of reporting, analytics, AI, and ML to enhance claims processes and customer outcomes
- Build strong relationships across IT, data, business teams, and global Allianz stakeholders
- Promote best practices in data architecture, governance, and product development
- Contribute to leadership initiatives that improve team engagement, productivity, and continuous improvement
Essential Skills
- Degree in a numerate, scientific, or computing discipline (e.g. Data Science, Maths, Computer Science, Economics)
- Proven experience as a Product Owner delivering modern products in an agile environment
- Strong leadership capability with experience motivating, developing, and guiding teams
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across multiple levels
- Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable business value through data or product initiatives
- Confident decision-making with a results-driven mindset
- Highly organised with excellent planning and delivery focus
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience in data value management including governance, quality, and ownership
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Familiarity with Python, PySpark, data lakes, and data warehousing concepts
- Understanding of DevOps, automated testing, and release management
- Knowledge of insurance principles or claims processes
- Experience working in experimental or empirical product environments
- Familiarity with Agile tooling such as Jira and Confluence
- Agile certifications such as PSPO, CSPO, or SPC
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage and awareness of ethical AI principles
