Overview

Allianz UK is embarking on a journey to achieve excellence in its management of risk and is investing in first line risk management, governance and controls across the first line. This is a great opportunity to join an established team to support and enhance the way in which risks are managed within its Claims business.

As First Line Risk Manager, you will support the Claims business in identifying, assessing, mitigating and monitoring its risk profile in order to safely achieve its business plan and objectives. You will partner with local SMEs and risk owners and lead in identifying, assessing, mitigating, reporting and monitoring the business areas’ risk profile to achieve objectives. You will also lead the business area in enhancing a robust risk and control environment, including adherence with functional rules.

Location: This position is available on a hybrid basis and can be based at any UK office location. Salary: Circa £55,000 per year. Salary is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

  • Engage with the business SMEs and risk owners to provide specialist risk advice and challenge established risk processes, controls, approaches and thinking.
  • Provide a lead point of technical referral for risk management processes and proactively support the leadership team with risk advice.
  • Raise awareness of risks within the business to the leadership team and recommend measures to remove or mitigate those risks.
  • Lead the enhancement of risk appetite within the business area.
  • Oversee the development of KRIs and other relevant risk measures.
  • Direct and deliver the preparation of impactful, evidence-based risk and controls insight to senior management and management forums.
  • Support or lead for the Head of First Line Risk in first line risk alignment activity.
  • Support and influence the business SMEs and risk owners in ensuring risks and controls are considered in change activity.
  • Direct the work of others within the team and work collaboratively with other First Line Risk functions.
  • Develop and maintain own risk management capabilities and understanding.
  • Advocate the role of the First Line Risk and Controls team to stakeholders across First, Second and Third Line as a trusted partner for controls improvement activities.
