An experienced engineer with knowledge of Lift and Crane discipline will join Allianz Engineering Inspection Services, working on client site inspections of lifts, cranes, material handling equipment and construction plant. The work involves inspecting plant and equipment, preparing electronic examination reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate client needs and assist them in ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Work closely with the Engineer Surveyor Team and senior operations leadership.
  • Prepare examination reports using electronic reporting tools.
  • Carry out hands‑on inspections of lifts, material handling equipment, cranes, and construction plant.
  • Operate safely in confined spaces, at height, and in hot and cold conditions; manage exposure to noise and dust.
  • Support and deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors when required.

Working Conditions

The role can be physically demanding and may require working at height, in confined spaces, lifting, climbing, and exposure to noise and dust.

Qualifications

  • Applicants should have up‑to‑date knowledge of compliance rules for the Lift and Crane discipline and be capable of making well‑informed decisions.
  • Effective short, medium, and long‑term planning and diary management.
  • Good travel skills within local work area.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and customer interaction.
  • Passionate about engineering and self‑driven.
  • Background with lifts, cranes, material handling equipment, or manufacturing/repair/maintenance.
  • NVQ Level 3 or above in a mechanical‑related subject.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
  • Time‑management skills to organise work autonomously.
  • Comfortable using tablets and smartphones.
  • Incorporated Engineer (desirable).
  • Responsible AI knowledge (desirable).

Salary

Circa £52,887 per year (including London Allowance) + Company Car
