Our Engineer Surveyors visit client sites to carry out inspections and assess a wide range of plant, equipment, and installations. As a newly recruited Engineer Surveyor you will automatically be enrolled onto our induction training programme.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate clients’ needs and help them comply with relevant legislation.
- Work closely with the Engineer Surveyor team managed by a Senior Operations Team Leader.
- Prepare electronic reports of examinations following inspections for fast and efficient delivery.
- Carry out hands‑on inspections of various items of plant and equipment such as lifts, material handling equipment, cranes, and construction plant.
- Work in physically demanding environments, including working at height, confined spaces, lifting and climbing in both hot and cold conditions, and exposure to noise and dust.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa ÂŁ52,887 per year (including London Allowance) + Company Car. Salary is based on relevant experience, skills, and location.
Qualifications and Experience
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of all relevant compliance and regulatory rules and procedures related to the Lift and Crane discipline.
- Ability to make well‑informed decisions and take responsibility.
- Effective short‑, medium‑ and long‑term planning to diarise meetings, visits and work allocation.
- Ability to travel effectively within local allocated work area.
- Processing documentation and general administration timely.
- Willingness to support and deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors.
- Passion for engineering, self‑driven, and ability to interact with a variety of clients daily.
- Background working with lifts, cranes, and materials handling equipment, with hands‑on experience in manufacturing, repair, or maintenance roles.
- Strong customer interaction skills, including good oral and written communication.
Essential Skills
- NVQ Level 3 or above in a mechanical‑related subject.
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- Excellent time‑management skills and ability to organise week’s work independently.
- Comfortable using tablets and smartphones as part of daily work.
