Role Description
- Anticipate our client's needs and help them ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Collaborate closely with the Engineer Surveyor team, managed by a Senior Operations Team Leader.
- Prepare electronic reports following inspections for fast and efficient delivery to clients.
- Carry out hands‑on inspections of lifts, material handling equipment, cranes and construction plant.
- Manage a physically demanding role that may require working at height, in confined spaces, lifting, and climbing in both hot and cold conditions.
- Exposure to noise and dust is common; you should be comfortable in a hands‑on environment.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa ÂŁ45,539 per year + Company Car. Salary is based on relevant experience, skills for the role and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
- As an Engineer Surveyor you will assess a wide range of installations and anticipate our client's needs, helping them achieve compliance with relevant legislation.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of compliance and regulatory rules for the Lift and Crane discipline.
- Make well‑informed decisions and take responsibility.
- Effective short, medium and long‑term planning, diary management, meetings, visits and work allocation.
- Travel effectively within your local work area.
- Process documentation and undertake general administration in a timely manner.
- Support and deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors as required.
- Passionate about engineering, self‑driven, and able to interact with a variety of clients daily.
- Background in working with lifts, cranes, material handling equipment, and hands‑on experience in manufacturing, repair or maintenance roles.
- Strong customer interaction skills, including good oral and written communication.
Essential Skills
- NVQ Level 3 or above in an engineering‑related subject.
- Holder of a full UK driving licence.
- Excellent time‑management skills to self‑sufficiently organise weekly work.
- Comfortable using tablets and smartphones as critical tools for the role.
Desirable Skills
- Incorporated Engineer qualification.
