We are looking for a Claims Handler to join our Alternative Risk Transfer Team until the end of the year, for a maternity replacement. The role is based in London.
The Impact You Will Have
You will help manage a portfolio of international insurance / reinsurance claims and multi‑line/multi‑year structured deals, involving investigation, negotiation and resolution. Responsibilities include account administration, complex issue resolution, coordinating third‑party services and conducting coverage evaluations. You will provide high‑quality service to internal and external customers, maintaining strong relationships with brokers and clients.
Responsibilities
- Proactively managing allocated claims portfolio(s)
- Directing internal and independent external service providers, such as Loss Adjusters
- Investigating high exposure domestic and international claims that involve complex issues
- Resolving a variety of high exposure, complex claims, ensuring cost‑effective, service‑oriented solutions
- Ensuring all claims are handled within authority limits and in line with Allianz Commercial Claims Standards procedures and guidelines
- Proactively supporting the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business, including client and broker negotiations where necessary
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key brokers, clients, and other relevant stakeholders, such as third‑party adjusters
Qualifications and Experience
- Knowledge of the claims handling process from notification to settlement, ideally in the sector of complex property or liability claims, coinsurance, and reinsurance principles
- Knowledge of reserving principles and practices, and an understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures
- Confident relational skills, able to collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, to project manage and negotiate
- Ability to work in an international matrix organisation and develop relations
- Curiosity and efficient learning methodology, flexibility and team spirit
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are welcome
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and a general interest in systems
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business
Contract & Remuneration
Full‑time, temporary contract until the end of the year, based in central London. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a generous bonus scheme and pension.
