Reporting to the Head of Corporate Events, this role is responsible for the planning, execution, and management of key corporate events for Allianz UK, including employee events, broker events, and corporate hospitality arrangements. The aim is to enhance engagement, build trust, and connect attendees with Allianz UK's business strategy, performance, and leadership. This role ensures that all events comply with Allianz UK's Corporate Hospitality and Gifts and Entertainment functional rules.
The Senior Events Manager will work closely with the Head of Corporate Events, as well as other senior business stakeholders, to ensure consistent, clear, and impactful messaging at events. The role will focus on creating high-quality events for audiences, working with colleagues to craft compelling narratives and engaging content around strategy, performance, culture, brand, and transformation initiatives at these events. It will use performance and measurement frameworks to monitor impact and inform continuous improvements of external communication initiatives.
This role can be flexible with location, working in either Bournemouth, Bristol, Guildford, Leeds or London offices. This is a Hybrid role with expectation of you attending the office at least once per week. Please note that this role may also require some out of hours work with occasional travel.
About You
- Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy that aligns with Allianz UK's business goals and brand values.
- Plan and oversee the execution of a diverse range of events, including large-scale employee activities, broker events, and corporate hospitality.
- Establish event objectives, budgets, and timelines, ensuring all events are delivered on time and within budget.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all event-related inquiries and issues, providing timely and effective resolutions.
- Lead the end-to-end management of events, including venue selection, vendor management, logistics, and on-site coordination.
- Ensure high standards of event delivery and attendee experience, maintaining a consistent and professional corporate image.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, such as venues, suppliers, and event agencies.
- Work in partnership with Communication Team colleagues to create event materials, including invitations, programs, signage, and promotional content.
- Ensure all content adheres to the company's tone of voice and brand guidelines, maintaining consistency and quality and that all communications activities comply with governance, legislation, and regulation.
- Maintain accurate records of event-related expenses, gifts, and hospitality, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Provide guidance and training to team members and stakeholders on policy compliance and best practices.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of event professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Develop and implement metrics to evaluate the success and impact of events, including attendee feedback.
- Report quarterly on event performance, insights, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Experience Essential Skills
- Insight and audience-led planning experience, particularly around connecting key messages to audiences through events.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience of linking commercial and business priorities to external audiences, able to align communications activities to one integrated plan.
Technical skills
- Tactical events planning and strong organisational skills with attention to detail and quality.
- Knowledge of, and proficiency in, event management software and tools.
- Understanding of event planning principles and best practices.
Desirable Skills
- Degree level or equivalent – minimum 2:2 or equivalent (CIPR Diploma) in Events Management, Communications, Business or associated discipline.
- Professional qualifications at certificate level.
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage such as using AI to make processes more efficient or to write invites / assist with event planning and organisation.
