As part of our UK strategy and purpose, we are recruiting a Claims Data Quality Lead to join the Claims Insight & Performance team. This is a pivotal role at the heart of Allianz UK Claims, leading how we improve, govern and embed data quality across the function, ensuring it directly supports performance, customer outcomes and risk management.

This role is based in one of our offices in Bournemouth, Birmingham, Guilford or Milton Keynes. The position is hybrid, with an expectation to attend the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

Compensation

Pay: Circa £55,000 per year, based on relevant experience, skills for the role and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

Responsibilities

  • Own Data Quality Improvement Across Claims: Drive and coordinate the claims data quality improvement agenda aligned to business priorities. Identify and prioritise the data issues that most impact performance, customer outcomes and risk. Translate data quality gaps into clear, actionable improvement plans.
  • Embed a Sustainable Operating Model: Drive clarity and support the embedding of data ownership, stewardship and accountability across Claims. Work with the Operational Data Improvement Managers to embed consistent data quality management within operational teams. Enable Data Stewards to effectively own and manage data within their domains.
  • Strengthen Governance and Control: Apply Central Data Office frameworks within the Claims environment. Ensure clear controls, transparency and audit readiness across key data domains. Embed proportionate governance that supports delivery, not just compliance.
  • Turn Data Quality into Business Value: Link data quality improvements directly to operational outcomes. Track, evidence and communicate the impact of data quality on performance and decision-making. Ensure data quality enables effective use of reporting, analytics and AI.
  • Build Capability and Culture: Increase understanding and confidence in data quality across Claims. Promote consistent, responsible data practices in day-to-day operations. Support the shift to proactive, owned and sustainable data management.

Essential Skills

  • Experience driving data quality or data governance improvement in a complex operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of data ownership, stewardship and control frameworks.
  • Proven ability to operate through others (e.g. embedded roles, federated models) rather than direct control.
  • Ability to prioritise competing data quality issues based on business impact.
  • Experience influencing and working with senior stakeholders across business and central functions.
  • Confident communicating complex data concepts in a clear, practical way.

Desirable Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Claims and the wider UK insurance environment (preferred).
  • Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage.
