This role exists to be the steady, practical support for customers when something urgent happens— a breakdown at the roadside, a burst pipe at home, or medical issues while travelling. It’s for someone who thrives on solving real problems over the phone, coordinating services quickly, and keeping people calm and informed from first contact to resolution. If you’re clear, empathetic, decisive, and comfortable working hybrid from Croydon or Birmingham with some shifts outside 9–5, you’ll recognise yourself here.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take inbound and make outbound calls to customers needing urgent help (roadside, home emergency, travel/medical); quickly triage and capture essential details.
  • Coordinate the right response: book recovery and contractors, liaise with medical assistance, and manage suppliers to get help on the way.
  • Keep customers informed from first contact to resolution: set clear expectations, provide timely updates, and record accurate case notes.
  • Make sound, people-first decisions within our procedures; prioritise and elevate when needed to resolve cases safely and efficiently.
  • Navigate multiple systems to open and track cases, document actions, and hand over smoothly across shifts.
  • Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics and cloud-based tools, using insight responsibly and in line with our standards for data governance, security and ethical use.

Key Requirements:

  • Clear, calm communicator with strong listening skills who can show empathy while moving things forward—this builds trust when customers are under stress.
  • Experience in customer service handling calls or urgent queries (contact centre/assistance helpful but not essential)—you know how to diagnose needs and resolve them quickly.
  • Resilient under pressure—able to stay organised, make decisions, and manage multiple cases at once—because situations can be time‑critical with several moving parts.
  • Comfortable with a rotating schedule including daytime hours and occasional evenings/weekends, and hybrid working from Croydon or Birmingham—our support matches when customers need us.
  • Tech‑ready—quick to learn new systems, follow procedures, and document accurately—quality, safety and regulatory standards depend on precise records.
  • Collaborative teammate who hands over cleanly and works well with partners—seamless coordination gets help to customers faster.
