Roadside Technician – Stanstead
Role Overview: Join our high performing national roadside assistance team as a qualified mechanic or roadside technician. You will be fully trained to provide first‑class service that ensures our customers can get back on the road safely and in a timely fashion. Using a fully equipped van, you will handle roadside repairs, use diagnostic systems, and arrange vehicle recovery when necessary. Each day brings new challenges, offering instant customer feedback and diverse responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide first‑class roadside assistance, ensuring customers receive excellent service and are highlighted as the best in class.
- Take ownership of each assistance job, making the best and most appropriate decisions for each customer.
- Repair vehicles on scene using various diagnostic technologies and systems.
- Arrange recovery of vehicles requiring dealer workshop attention when necessary.
- Deliver excellent customer service in every interaction and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Make decisions that keep patients and the general public safe, taking responsibility for each customer’s journey.
What We’re Looking For
- Experienced vehicle or roadside technician.
- Diagnostic equipment experience, excellent fault finding and repair skills.
- Excellent customer‑facing skills and good level of IT competence.
- Full drivers’ licence and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
Qualifications
- Manufacture apprenticeship or equivalent City & Guilds Technician Certificate Parts I and II, NVQ/B-Tech diploma.
Salary & Bonuses
- £42,000 per annum plus £8,000 bonus.
- Guaranteed additional £3,000 bonus in the first 12 months.
- Earnable OTE of £55,000.
- Additional rewards and bonuses including the prestigious ‘Technician of the Year’.
- Top performers achieving North of £60,000.
Working Hours & Shifts
- No working overnight or 12‑hour shifts; average 42.75 hours per week between 7 am and 10 pm, Monday to Sunday.
- Regular start times alternating between 7 am and 11 am, giving two weekends off per month with 12 months advance notice.
- Generous overtime rate for early start or late finish.
