Underwriter – Property and Casualty Assistant
Role Description
Allianz UK has an opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant working within our Property and Casualty team based in Birmingham.
Allianz Insurance offers a generous study package to enable the actuarial qualification to be obtained through the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK.

- The purpose of this role is to support with Underwriting activities by handling administrator task for the team.
- Assist in delivering excellent customer service and supporting Underwriters with completion of preparatory work.
- Participate in the Global P&C Academy accreditation to enhance your skills in Underwriting.
- Support with Risk, Pricing and claim management.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa ÂŁ28,000 per year.
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
Your role will vary day to day, but here is a bit of what you can expect:
- Providing timely and accurate administrative support activity for internal and external customers ensuring that they have the tools required to undertake their role.
- Completing Underwriting support work and processing.
- Handling incoming internal and external customer queries both verbally and in writing.
- Building relationships with internal teams to deliver efficient processes and procedures.
- Applying and maintains underwriting standards on cases up to own underwriting authority and refers cases when appropriate.
We don\’t expect you to know everything from day one, but the following will enable you to hit the ground running:
- Full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Understands team processes and procedures.
- Understanding of renewal, new business and mid-term adjustment procedures.
- Understands basic products and covers.

- Previous Insurance experience however this is not a requirement.
