Progress your engineering career in one of the key roles within Allianz Engineering, Construction, & Power. As an Engineer Surveyor, you’ll be at the heart of our operations conducting inspections and evaluating a diverse range of plant and equipment at client sites. From day one, you’ll be enrolled in our industry-leading induction programme, designed to set you up for success. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with a good knowledge of Pressure, Compressed Air & Steam equipment to join Allianz Engineering, a division of one of the largest insurers and financial services companies in the world.
You will carry out hands-on inspections of plant and equipment in a wide range of locations such as factories, warehouses and other commercial premises. Work closely with your Engineer Surveyor Team managed by one of our Senior Operations Team Leaders. Prepare reports of examination following your inspections using electronic reporting to ensure fast and efficient delivery to our clients. Assess a wide range of installations, anticipate problems and help our clients to ensure that they comply with relevant legislation. This role forms an integral part of our business, as you examine various items of equipment including pressure vessels and boilers.
Salary Information
Pay: Starting Salary ÂŁ44,213 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
- Up to date on your knowledge and understanding of all relevant compliance and regulatory rules and procedures that relate to the Pressure Mechanical discipline.
- Making well informed decisions, and willing to take responsibility.
- Being effective at short, medium and long-term planning, in order to diarise meetings, visits and work allocation.
- Being able to travel effectively within your local allocated work area.
- Processing documentation, as well as undertaking general administration in a timely manner.
- Willingness to support and deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors (of own discipline) as and when required.
Essential Skills
- Candidates must hold at least a Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline—preferably Mechanical Engineering or be actively working towards an equivalent credential.
- A background working with steam generation, compressed air and associated plant ideally with manufacturing (QA and production), maintenance and operation, repair and site inspection experience.
- Strong customer interaction skills are essential, including good oral and written communication skills.
- A holder of a full valid UK driving licence.
- Time management skills are essential as you will be required to independently organise your week’s work in an effective manner.
- As tablets and smartphones are crucial tools for an Engineer Surveyor, you will need to be comfortable using these as part of your working day.
