Engineer Surveyor – Fixed Wire Tester Talent Pool

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified electrician with a background in installation and/or fixed wire inspection and testing to join Allianz Engineering, a division of one of the largest insurers and financial services companies in the world.
As a newly recruited Engineer Surveyor at Allianz Engineering, you will automatically be enrolled onto our unrivalled induction-training programme to support your personal development.
Role Description
As an Engineer Surveyor – Fixed Wire Tester you will:
- Carry out the Periodic Inspection & Test and complete the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) for all types of industrial and commercial installations such as offices, factories, quarries and hotels. Also included is the testing of Lightning Protection Systems and Electric Vehicle Chargers.
- Work closely with your Engineer Surveyor Team managed by one of our Senior Operations Team Leaders.
- Prepare reports of examination following your inspections using electronic reporting to ensure fast and efficient delivery to our clients.
- This role forms an integral part of our business, as you carry out hands-on inspections of various items of plant and equipment.
The Engineer Surveyor role can be physically demanding and may require working at height, working in confined spaces, lifting, and climbing in both hot and cold conditions. It may also involve exposure to noise and dust, so you need to be happy being in a hands-on environment.
Salary Information
Pay: Starting from ÂŁ44,213 per year.
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You
- Up to date on their knowledge of BS7671:2018 amendment 2.
- Willing to learn and take on new challenges.
- Able to make well informed decisions, and willing to take responsibility.
- Effective in their short, medium and long-term planning, in order to diarise meetings, visits and work allocation.
- Able to travel effectively within your local allocated work area.
- Competent in processing documentation, as well as undertaking general administration in a timely manner.
- Willing to support and deputise for fellow Engineer Surveyors as and when required.
- Time management skills are essential as you are required to independently organise your week\’s work in an effective manner.
- As tablets and smartphones are crucial tools for an Engineer Surveyor, you will need to be comfortable using these as part of your working day.
- You will need to be passionate about engineering, self-driven with the ability to interact with a variety of clients daily.
- Have a background in working with low voltage electrical installations.
- Experience in fixed wire testing is essential.
- Successful candidates are required to hold as a minimum, a NVQ Level 3 qualification in electrical engineering.
- Hold BS7671:2018 Amendment 2 (18th Edition).
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong customer interaction skills are essential, including good oral and written. communication skills.
- Hold a full valid UK driving licence.

- Professional engineer registration – desirable, but not essential.
