We are seeking an Associate Portfolio Manager to join our Emerging Market Debt team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of trade idea generation in local currency EM FX and bonds, across GBI-EM and frontier countries.
In this role, you will perform sovereign macro-economic and political research on a number of countries and work closely with the PMs/CIO of the Emerging Market Debt team, with the possibility to transition to a risk-taking role in the future.
This position will be based in our London Office.
What You Will Do
- Run a local currency bond and FX framework across all regions
- Generate trade ideas for implementation in benchmark, blended and global strategies
- Employ a wide range of alpha generating techniques and instruments, including duration, curve, country selection, etc.
- Carry out sovereign macroeconomic research on assigned countries
- Support portfolio construction and trade idea implementation, including portfolio risk monitoring and maintenance and others, as directed by the PM team
What You Bring
- Minimum 3 – 6 years of experience in Emerging Markets Fixed Income, specialising in local currency bonds and FX
- Deep understanding of political risk and macroeconomic drivers
- Degree in Economics, Finance or related area
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications with strong data analytics skills
- Language skills are a plus
