Overview
Role Description: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pricing Analyst to join our growing Animal Health Pricing Team. The team is responsible for delivering cutting‑edge Radar live capability, pricing optimisation, impact analysis tools and supporting the market‑leading brand PetPlan as well as our growing LV pet proposition.
The team is at the heart of achieving the company’s strategy. You will be at the sharp end of our business, delivering analytical models that drive commercial decisions, solve challenging problems, and deliver enhancements to our products and pricing techniques. Extensive training is provided as part of an accreditation scheme designed to train you in all aspects of pricing, from data science modelling to automating optimisation calculation routines.
Location & Salary
Location: Guildford office. Hybrid working model – 1 day in the office, 4 days from home. Salary: £35k – £41k per annum, based on experience, skills, and location.
Responsibilities
- Build sophisticated pricing tools using Willis Tower Watson tools (Radar and Emblem) to predict the impact of pricing decisions.
- Play a pivotal role in the delivery and enhancement of our WTW Radar Live capability and price optimisation process.
- Be part of projects involving Machine Learning: data preparation, automation, risk monitoring.
- Deploy rating enhancements to market in a timely and precise manner.
- Contribute to the development of pricing structures and strategies to achieve growth and profitability objectives.
- Support initiatives to maintain our ‘Excellent’ Technical Price Certification.
- Share and promote knowledge, skills and best working practices within the team.
Essential Skills
- Experience using WTW Radar.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, logically working through scenarios and thinking several steps ahead.
- Experience with data analytics tools such as Python, R, SAS, SQL, Excel, VBA.
- Well‑developed analytical and data interpretation skills with large, complex data sets.
- Ability to communicate findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Degree level qualification and strong numerical ability (e.g., Mathematics, Economics, Statistics).
- Enthusiasm for innovation and challenges.
- Ownership of projects and strong business acumen with understanding of the insurance sector.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage.
- Pet insurance knowledge.
