This job is with Allianz Commercial, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. You will lead the engagement, prioritisation and delivery of the data function, acting as the strategic interface between business stakeholders and data teams to ensure the right work is delivered with clarity, pace and impact. This is a high-visibility leadership role offering the opportunity to shape how data products are defined, prioritised and delivered at scale.

Location: This role can be based in London, Guildford or Bournemouth, with an expectation to attend the office 50% of the time.

Pay is based on experience, skills and location and forms part of a competitive total rewards package.

About You

  • You design and own an end-to-end demand management process, creating a single, structured intake for all business data requests.
  • Facilitate prioritisation forums with senior stakeholders, using data and Rapid Impact Analysis to inform decisions.
  • Manage and communicate a transparent backlog, ensuring stakeholders understand priorities and trade-offs.
  • Create clear, executive-level visibility of all active data initiatives and outcomes.
  • Proactively communicate what is not being delivered, providing context, rationale and business impact.
  • Align data delivery to business strategy, ensuring a clear link between objectives and outputs.
  • Lead the data product portfolio, defining outcomes, success measures and adoption tracking.
  • Lead Data Product Managers and Business Analysts, embedding consistent standards and practices.
  • Drive a product mindset, focusing on decision-making impact rather than outputs alone.
  • Lead Delivery Leads across the data programme, ensuring coordination across Engineering, BI, AI, Governance and Digital teams.
  • Remove silos and orchestrate cross-functional work to deliver cohesive outcomes.
  • Ensure delivery commitments are met, addressing risks early and driving accountability.
  • Inspire and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and represent the data function in governance and executive forums.

Essential Skills

  • Experience leading demand and portfolio management in complex data or technology environments.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively without direct authority.
  • Deep understanding of agile and lean delivery methodologies across multiple teams.
  • Experience working within or leading data, analytics or technology functions.
  • Demonstrated delivery leadership across cross-functional programmes.
  • Ability to translate complex delivery challenges into clear, business-focused narratives.
  • Executive presence with confidence engaging at C-suite and senior leadership level.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing teams and developing high-performing individuals.
  • Degree level education (2:1 or above) or equivalent experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience within insurance or financial services environments.
  • Experience implementing OKRs or outcome-based delivery frameworks.
  • Experience leading organisational or operating model change.
  • Familiarity with data product management practices and lifecycle.
  • Exposure to multi-disciplinary data teams (Engineering, BI, AI, Governance).
  • Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage.
