Pricing Actuary, Specialty
Join Allianz Commercial as a Pricing Actuary, Specialty (m/f/d) based in London or Munich. This role is part of the Global Pricing Specialty Team, a dynamic group dedicated to developing innovative pricing models for specialty markets.
Team & Impact
You will work closely with the Head of Pricing Specialty and act as a business partner to Allianz Commercial Specialty lines. Your work will inform pricing strategies, support execution, and monitor outcomes to help meet long‑term profit targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain pricing tools, including refinement, statistical methodology, and tool specifications for IT enhancements.
- Conduct deep‑dive profitability reviews, preparing data and analyses for individual accounts or business segments, and translate results into portfolio actions and technical pricing models.
- Support underwriters with case pricing for large and complex accounts.
- Understand global market developments and reflect loss trends in underwriting activities.
- Build strong working relationships with Underwriting and senior management to promote technical pricing concepts and tools.
- Coordinate global, cross‑team projects as required.
- Peer‑review work from other team members.
What You’ll Bring
- Qualified P&C Actuary (or nearly qualified with significant experience).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with great attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills; experience with Excel and coding (SQL or Python an advantage).
- Experience in commercial lines pricing, preferably large corporate and specialty lines; knowledge of specialty lines (Marine, Aviation, Entertainment) is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of AI and its potential applications in business.
- Curiosity, probing questions, and tenacity to drive action.
- Partnering mentality with strong relationships with peers, management, and business areas.
- Ability to explain technical information to non‑technical audiences.
- Strong results orientation with a proven track‑record of delivering on‑time projects and process improvements.
- Ability to work in an international environment.
- Fluent English skills.
