Risk Intern UKI

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Risk Management team.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in risk management processes and contribute to strategic initiatives that support the UK & Ireland (UKI) operations.

This position will report to the Head of Risk UKI.

The ideal candidate will be a driven individual, capable of operating on own initiative to support the impactful delivery of risk management activities.

The position follows a hybrid schedule working at our East Croydon location.

Details / Role Purpose / Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the identification and assessment of risks across the business unit, leveraging research and industry trends where applicable.
  • Support 2Lo D oversight of operational risks through delivery of Risk Management Programs (inc. Operational Risk Event Capture, Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM)).
  • Analyse business incident trends and produce risk MI.
  • Maintain and update risk registers, control libraries and remediation action tracking.
  • Support with preparation of 2Lo D Risk materials and opinions for the UKI governance forums and leadership updates.
  • Support with delivery of risk management training and other Risk communications with 1Lo D Risk & Control Officers and Risk Owners.
  • Participate in risk management meetings and contribute to discussions on risk-related topics.
  • AI Readiness

Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data, analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use.

Qualifications

  • Holding or pursuing a degree or other qualification in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
