We are looking for a Junior Underwriting Analyst - Allianz Commercial Underwriting - based in London.
Your Team
The AGCS Global Construction Team manages our global portfolio of construction risks. Within a CUO team of Global, Product and Regional leaders located around the world, we grow and shape our portfolio of large construction projects and major contractors’ annual policies. Our clients build the world’s infrastructure and transport systems, and grow and renew our energy and industrial assets. We are market leaders in all aspects of large construction and we work with industry experts to add value to our brokers, our clients and their projects.
The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Global Head of Construction and working alongside our Senior Underwriting Portfolio Analyst, you will join the team as a Junior Underwriting Analyst responsible for the preparation and interpretation of portfolio data. You will support the work of other team members and participate in daily interactions with the Global Head of Construction and colleagues in Underwriting, Finance, Portfolio Steering, Pricing, Distribution, and Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Support, prepare and coordinate reporting and portfolio management tasks across countries, regions and sub-lines of business, including several technical excellence initiatives.
- Complete ad-hoc requests in a timely, reliable and independent manner.
- Drive and optimise the flow of data quality to support better portfolio steering.
- Take charge of best practices, project steering and change requests.
- Work in close alignment with the business project lead and AGCS stakeholders to translate and implement business requirements into technical requirements and generate business value.
- Represent the Line of Business/Underwriter in respect of global (IT) systems and processes.
Qualifications
- Experience in international industrial insurance and / or reinsurance.
- Experience in analytical, numerical, and adaptive problem solving tasks using a logical and methodological approach.
- Experience in communicating results to stakeholders.
- Ability to multitask with a focus on effective use of one's own resources, managing tasks and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proficient in analysing global processes, identifying, addressing, and implementing efficiency potential.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in an international environment, respecting time-zones and differing working cultures.
- Excellent tertiary qualification (preferably a Master's) in the area of analytics or business.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and SQL; Python knowledge is a bonus.
- Willingness to learn and explore how AI can enhance the role and the broader organization.
- Fluent English; other languages advantageous.
