This Internship is based in London for a duration of maximum 5 months starting from September 2026.
We are seeking an Intern - Development Finance Asset Management to join our Development Finance team within Private Markets. You will support a broad range of portfolio management, monitoring, reporting, liquidity management, credit risk, valuation, and operational activities across development finance investments. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to emerging markets investing, private credit asset management, and sustainable finance.
What You Will Do
- Support ongoing asset monitoring by tracking principal repayments, interest receipts, and following up on payment delays or defaults.
- Maintain asset and portfolio data, trackers, and databases to ensure consistency across reporting, risk, and operational systems.
- Update portfolio records for rate resets, interest curves, premiums, and tax-related entries.
- Prepare cashflow forecasts and support internal funding and liquidity planning activities.
- Monitor borrower compliance with covenants and reporting requirements and maintain quarterly tracking tools.
- Assist with credit risk monitoring, including risk rating preparation and portfolio-level credit analysis.
- Prepare and contribute to internal and external reporting requirements, including ESG and regulatory reporting.
- Support KYC processes by assisting with periodic reviews.
- Contribute to valuation processes through data preparation and support for credit review updates.
What You Bring
- Preferably pursuing or having completed a degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Expected to achieve, or have achieved, a 2.1 degree classification (or equivalent).
- Achieved a minimum of 128 UCAS points, 32 International Baccalaureate points, 75% in the European Baccalaureate, or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous internship or work experience in Development Finance, Private Equity, Private Credit Asset Management, Debt Advisory, Transaction Services, or Strategy Consulting.
- Experience working with large datasets and managing data accurately and efficiently.
- Understanding of financial statement analysis and valuation methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to integrity, professionalism, and ethical decision-making.
- Demonstrated interest in sustainability and investing in Emerging Markets.
- Ability to use Microsoft Copilot, with a strong commitment to ethical and responsible AI practices.
