The Opportunity
We’re looking for someone who can make an immediate impact - someone who’s comfortable working independently and thrives on owning product marketing execution from strategy through to delivery. This isn’t a junior role. We need a product marketing leader who has repeatedly launched complex SaaS platforms, who actively studies competitors and market dynamics, who can translate real user experience into winning sales narratives, and who takes full ownership of positioning Vable’s products to win in the market while equipping product, marketing and sales with customer insight, commercial proof and competitive intelligence that directly improves deal outcomes.
You’ll report to the Lead Marketing Manager, working closely with product and sales to shape positioning, launches, and market strategy. You’ll have a strong influence on direction and full ownership of execution - both strategic thinking and hands-on delivery. With a growing product roadmap and upcoming developments aimed at new audiences, you’ll play a pivotal part in bringing products to market with sharp positioning, compelling messaging, and maximum impact.
This Role is For You If You Thrive On:
- Autonomy and ownership - You identify what needs doing and make it happen
- Connecting the dots - You’re the bridge between product, sales, and marketing
- Strategy meets execution - You craft positioning frameworks and write the sales deck
- Product obsession - You become obsessive about understanding every detail
- Enabling others - Your messaging helps sales win and product teams understand the market
What You’ll Be Doing (Day to Day)
- Product & Market Insight
- Independently track and analyse the competitive landscape, including messaging, positioning, and product differentiation
- Build and maintain comprehensive customer personas and audience insights that inform strategy across teams
- Proactively support product teams with market and customer intelligence to influence development and prioritisation decisions
- Translate complex product features into customer-focused value propositions that resonate with technical and executive buyers
- Positioning & Messaging
- Develop and own product positioning, messaging frameworks, and value propositions
- Ensure messaging consistency across marketing, sales, and customer-facing teams
- Create and maintain core assets (positioning docs, messaging guides, pitch materials) as the single source of truth
- Continuously improve messaging based on performance data and market feedback
- Go-to-Market & Launches
- Lead product launch planning and execution, coordinating cross-functionally to ensure successful delivery
- Partner strategically with sales to ensure teams have the right messaging, context, and materials to win deals
- Drive enablement through sales decks, competitive battlecards, FAQs, objection handling, and internal communications
- Gather post-launch feedback systematically and use it to inform future improvements and product direction
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the connective tissue between marketing, product, and sales
- Proactively share insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to keep teams aligned
- Contribute to brainstorming and planning discussions to help the wider team stay dynamic and forward-looking
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- 3-5+ years in product marketing within B2B SaaS, with proven success launching complex products and executing GTM strategies
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing or related field, or higher qualification
- Deep understanding of positioning products with multiple stakeholders in the buying journey
- Strong market research, competitive analysis, and customer insight capabilities with a data-informed approach to decisions
- Proven ability to work autonomously - you identify priorities, create plans, and execute with minimal oversight
- Exceptional written communication skills and ability to translate technical features into compelling, benefit-driven messaging
- Experience working cross-functionally with product and sales teams
- Genuinely curious and techy - energised by understanding complex products
- Comfortable working remotely in a distributed team environment
- The right to live and work in the UK, without sponsorship
Desirable
- Experience working in a fully remote or distributed team environment
- Familiarity with products aimed at professional services, legal, or information management sectors
- Experience working with products serving different or evolving audiences (e.g., launching to new market segments)
- Proven experience with sales enablement materials and GTM planning in growth-stage SaaS companies
- A proactive mindset with a track record of improving how teams work together
- Experience mentoring or coaching others in product marketing best practices
Not Right for You If...
- You need close direction and frequent check-ins
- You prefer large corporate environments with established hierarchies and processes
- You prefer working on single campaigns rather than the full product marketing remit
- You’re more comfortable with brand marketing or demand gen than product marketing
- You work best with established playbooks rather than creating your own
- You’re early in your product marketing career and need significant mentorship
What Success Looks Like
- First 90 Days: Deep product knowledge, strong relationships across teams, first launch delivered with new positioning and collateral
- First 6 Months: Transformed product messaging, sales enabled with collateral that wins deals, improved key metrics (win rates, sales cycle, or product adoption)
- First Year: Repeatable launch processes established, strong influence on product roadmap, you’re the recognised product marketing expert teams turn to proactively
