We are a market leader in our industry, committed to growth, compliance, and strategic expansion. We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our team and to provide comprehensive legal support to the business. As our Legal Counsel you will be responsible for providing legal support to AML and its associated companies. This role involves ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, mitigating risks, and facilitating informed commercial decisions. The position requires you to have a deep understanding of corporate law, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple legal projects simultaneously.
Required Skills and Experience
- Background: commercial lawyer with in-house experience, ideally in healthcare
- Public procurement experience – preferably dealing with NHS contracting
- Experience of compliance to include Modern Slavery, Bribery, Data Protection and associated policies and implementation within a business
- Self-starter, with strong work ethic
- Extremely commercial, with ability to add real value to the business
- Strong commercial contract drafting skills, with high attention to detail
- Qualified and experienced solicitor with solid post qualification experience (PQE likely to be c.4-6 years, but all candidates will be considered on merit)
- Solid experience in providing legal advice to a commercial business
- Strong negotiator, experienced in turning commercial HoTs into contracts, identifying and allocating risks
- Excellent drafting skills and experience of complex services agreements
- Previous experience of public procurement and where possible with the NHS
- Awareness of property issues and the link to the commercial contract
- Previous experience in dealing with healthcare licensing authorities such as CQC/MHRA/Environment Agency is preferred
- Experience of litigation and disputes
