Help communities grow, connect and thrive. We’ve got a great opportunity to help look after our green spaces and our outdoor community hub in North Somerset. This is a hands-on role, you’ll work alongside residents, volunteers, community groups and partner organisations to help develop thriving community gardens that improve health and wellbeing, increase biodiversity and bring people together.

Working alongside our Community Investment team and the Our Neighbourhood Network project (funded by the National Lottery Community Fund), you’ll lead a small team of freelance community gardeners, nature-based practitioners, and volunteers. Your focus will be making sure our green spaces run smoothly and feel safe, welcoming places for everyone. You’ll also be representing Alliance Homes and what we do, while always looking for ways to improve how things work.

About you

You’ll already have some experience in gardening or horticulture, ideally with an RHS Level 2 qualification (or something similar). You’ll have experience of community gardening projects and understand how Asset-Based Community Development and green spaces can help build stronger, healthier and more connected communities. You’ll also be comfortable coordinating freelancers, volunteers, and community groups, and be good at encouraging and motivating people outdoors.

The role will require occasional weekend and evening work, to run or support community events. Whilst the role is primarily based in Weston-super-Mare, you must have access to your own transport and be able to drive within the area in which Alliance Homes operates. The successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.

We review applications when received, so we may close the vacancy early if we find that perfect candidate. If the role interests you, then apply now.
